China and Hong Kong Increased Vetting at US Consulates
Pursuant to “New Visa Policies Put America First, Not China,” which threatened to “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields”, immigration attorneys are seeing greatly enhanced vetting at US Consulates for all visa applicants from China and Hong Kong. Applicants have been put into administrative processing pending uploads of the following:
Resume / CV
Invitation or offer letter from U.S. host organization, university, or employer
Complete itinerary to, from, and within the U.S., including all meetings and conferences
List of all publications and/or patents as well as abstract of any paper or poster to be presented
Information regarding source of funding for your work/research and travel
